Child Custody and Second Parent Adoptions
Although Massachusetts law is very progressive when it comes to the rights of a non-biological parent of a child, issues concerning child custody and visitation can often arise. For example, there have been instances in which LGBTQ+ couples separate or divorce and only the biological parent is granted custody of the child. Securing your rights and being prepared is always in your best interest. We always recommend that both parties be on the birth certificate AND that the non-biological parent formally adopt the child.

Reproductive Agreements
Reproductive agreements such as sperm donor, egg donor, and surrogacy agreements are common for LGBTQ+ couples looking to start a family. It is essential to have an attorney represent you when entering into one of these agreements.
