Child Support
Both parents are financially responsible for their children under the law. Who receives and who pays child support depends on the income of the parents and the custody arrangements. Child support is calculated under the Massachusetts Child Support Guidelines.

These guidelines were last amended in 2021. While the Court tends to follow the Child Support Guidelines and formula, there are instances where a deviation to the Guidelines may be warranted. If you believe a child support deviation is warranted in your situation, it is best to have an attorney help you to seek a deviation through the Court and to guide you through the process.
